Do you know anyone who is completely self-centered and not aware of it? If so, is this person likable? The answer is probably ‘no.’ That’s what makes Curb Your Enthusiasm so incredible. How is it possible that Larry David – the main character on Curb Your Enthusiasm – is so likable when he shouldn’t be? Is it because that’s how we all are deep down? Geez … that would be depressing. But when it comes to Larry, it’s hilarious. At least that’s the way my family feels.
We all get together once per week to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm on the premium channel that cable tv hd offers. The crowd includes me, my wife, my son, and my in-laws. I know what you’re thinking: how do I have my in-laws over once per week to watch a show? They’re not my favorite people in the world, but when we’re sitting around laughing at something, it makes for a good time and improved relationships. Come to think of it, Curb Your Enthusiasm has also strengthened my marriage.
If you’re not familiar with Curb Your Enthusiasm and wouldn’t know what to expect, everything is based on a real life situation where Larry makes the worst possible move or says the worst possible thing at the worst possible time. This might sound like standard comedy, but Larry David is just as good an actor as he is a writer, and that’s saying a lot.
