My Kindle 3.

I know I told at least Haley that I was getting a Kindle for Christmas, but I’m not sure how many people who actually read this actually knew, or even care that I got one– it was my big present from my folks and pretty much covers a couple of years of Christmas and Birthday presents because it’s a bit pricy for them at the moment (which I’m not even going to get into right now because the point is to keep my mind off this junk). I was looking forward to it for like… a month there, and when I finally got it, it turns out I’m more in love with it than I thought I’d be.

I’ve been pumping it full of ebooks and such and reading off and on– there’s also an MP3 option to upload a couple (not a lot since it only has like 3 gigs of space and and I want a ton of books) that can be played in the background for reading… I’m pretty sure there’s a headphone jack too, for discretionary music and reading purposes. But seriously, this thing is so boss. It doesn’t hurt your eyes, it looks like magical fucking paper being written for you on point as you go through a book, instead of some random ‘computer’ device housing text for you. It’s like something out of goddamn Harry Potter.

I’m getting smudged all over it and it annoys me, but I can’t afford a GelaSkin right now– I want one, I have a few ideas of which ones I want and they’re only like 22$ with shipping, but I just don’t have the budget for it right this moment, all the while my shit is getting smudged all over, here comes my sad face.

Mostly this post is for my stalker!wench Haley, whom I love and adore <3 to let her know that fuck yes it’s worth getting, it’s not backlit, it’s not too bright, you do need a light on to read it, just like a fucking book, but it’s all those books in one. It not being backlit is a godsend, imo, considering that’s part of what fucks up our eyes with computer screens– you can also ramp up the font size if you need to, or so I’ve heard, but I haven’t found that option just yet. All in all… GET ONEEEEEE.

Christmas Eve

Holy crap it’s Christmas Eve. It feels like I never post here, but right now between editing the proof copy of the book I wrote last month and y’know, the Holidays, I haven’t been doing much of anything beyond the editing and some serious game time put in for WoW.

I’ma just reserve this spot for when I have something truly interesting to talk about. Maybe about shit that happened on Christmas? Who knows. :D

Sponsored Post: Zappos.com Rain Boots

This post is sponsored by Zappos.com

It’s funny to write about rain boots when you live in the desert, at least I think so, but honestly I’d prefer living somewhere where the rain flowed all the time and it was 99% about raining and 1% about dryness. I miss having snow, and weather, and all kinds of things, but most of all I miss the feeling of going out in the rain and having the ability to just slosh through puddles in a good pair of rain boots.

I’ve never had the luxury of being able to afford really expensive rain boots, the kind that people ogle from afar and think are just gorgeous beyond their function– but I would love to own a pair like that. Something that would make me feel beautiful while I’m doing something I can enjoy.

Burberry seems to have a wide selection, and Zappos.com seems to be leading the way in somewhat reasonable priced. I’d personally like to get the Painted Star Ankle Rain boot, at least if it rained more here. But honestly, I might even get them if it never rains again because they’re cute as hell and I’m not against wearing something that has no place in my outfit just because I think it looks cute. I follow my own sense of style, and I don’t mind getting it at an affordable price.

I wonder if they have them in my size.

Guest Post: Why I Love The Winter’s First Snow?

Thanks for the post, Nora Howe

When it’s summer, spring or fall, all I ever think of is winter and the very first snow. Having fun with and in the snow is exciting to me. I enjoy making snowmen, having snowball fights, skiing, and riding snowmobiles.

Being out in the snow is most enjoyable when I’m with my family and close friends. Together we have fun in the cold weather. It’s a great feeling to bundle up in warm snow clothes and roll around in the snow in the front yard. After I get done enjoying the first snow of each winter, I plan to watch satellite television. Playing out in the snow is a healthy workout, and I then get tired. So it’s very nice to comfortably relax in an easy chair with family and friends who gather around the TV to watch our favorite programs. We like reruns of “Friends,” “Seinfeld,” and “Cheers.” You can watch them on several different DIRECT TV channels.

Coming inside after a happy, snow-filled day means you can become toasty-warm. And you can relive all your most enjoyable moments out in the snow. After the first snowfall of the season, I look forward to as many new snow days as possible. There’s nothing better than being out on the first day of snow with the closest people in your life. Being out there each year always stirs up many spectacular memories.

Sponsored Post: Sell Quick LTD

I have a handful of friends who live in the UK, and hopefully if any of them still bother reading my blog they’ll be interested in this post, as this site offers services to buy your house quick and easy in the UK. Though it’s not all they offer, also offering help in selling your house.

From what I understand Sell Quick LTD will help by selling your house for you, making life a little easier for you. Some of the offered features seem to be:

    1. Commitment within days, completion within weeks
    2. No more wasted time, uncertainty, stress or hassle
    3. Option to quickly achieve 90-100% of Market Value
    4. Binding written assurances for your protection
    5. No valuation or Estate Agency fees
    6. Flexible, tailor-made solutions
    7. No false promises
    8. No chain, no public viewings and a confidential sale
    9. No legal fees (up to £1000 paid on completion)
    10. Purchase timeframes tailored to suit you

It seems like it’d take the hassle out of having to sell your house, or even buying one, removing a lot of the unneeded stress that such purchases can bring. You can get a free evaluation of your property with no obligation to you, so you can see just how useful these services could be for you. While I’m not selling or buying in the UK, it seems as if this company would offer a clear-cut solution to your needs if you are.
