Due date fast approaching.

With the boyfriend’s mother nearing her due date and having issues even keeping her contractions down as of now, I’m left with thinking of the fact that we might all be huddled in a hospital for hours on end, and while the boyfriend’s game boy will provide him with plenty of entertainment, the batteries could run dead or we could lack a charge spot for it at some point, so I’m thinking of getting him something low-tech, like yo yos. As far as I’m aware he used to love them as a kid, and it seems like a good way to distract him from our sitting there forever.

Me? I’ll be reading a book. I’m easy like that.

I miss the simplicity

There was a point in time where going outside in my back yard would provide hours of fun without the need for an internet connection, or even at times, friends. You could play with yourself for hours letting your imagination roam free, and if your father had an eye bolt or two, you could rig up a tire swing and while away the summer hours with just you, a tree, and your undeniable happiness. I hope we can get something like that set up for Alice when she comes along. I want to be a good pseudo-big sister.

Baby gift ideas for the Mom

Though I already purchased a ridiculous amount of little things for my boyfriend’s upcoming little sister, I feel like perhaps I should get something for his mother, like someone suggesting I buy a personalized tote bag gift. It’s an idea that has merit, because it could be something that was separate from the idea of a diaper bag, but still easy enough to cart around that it wouldn’t add too much extra weight for her. Do you think that seems like a good idea, or am I going the wrong route?

Timing.

My computer is out of commission, and it kind of sucks. I need to take computer repair training classes so that this will no longer be an issue. It makes things I can do online and when I do them very limited, but I’m trying to make it work, so here’s hoping at some point in the near future I can get a replacement and not end up stuck with this one for ages (top of the line card in 2006 and 2 gigs of ram, waaaat).

This is also piled on top of the fact that my birthday is soon (like, a week) and us moving. I’m not sure when exactly we’re out of here, but I have no qualms about leaving. I can’t wait to leave this hell hole in the dust. <3

Arizona heat and Garages

It’s weird to think that in a few shorts weeks we’ll be out of here, but I have to mention now that having a garage in Arizona, without some kind of garage flooring and cooling unit, is about as ridiculous as having a sauna here. The place is way too warm to even go out and do our laundry half the time, and we find ourselves waiting until well after dark and it’s still suffocatingly hot in there. I’m hoping that we move some place way more temperate so we can do our laundry on a regular basis at a decent hour, and actually make use of our garage, instead of having it be a constant source of heat and disappointment.
