Top 10 Hottest Actresses.

Let me preface this by saying that hot is subjective, and beyond that, I find substance and intelligence hot, as well as knowing how to carry yourself, so it’s likely that some of these names or faces won’t scream out at people in the way of “I’m a gorgeous little bimbo!” but they should at least speak to people on the level of “She has more than just one thing going for her.”

That being said, bated-breath.net is proud to present its favourite/hottest Actresses!

Monica Bellucci

10. Very few women have managed to capture me in the way that Monica Bellucci has been able to– she manages to be graceful and elegant in any role she’s in, and I particularly liked her in Brotherhood of the Wolf , she was amazing and beautiful and through everything I found myself completely enamored with her.
For some reason it seems like she doesn’t get nearly enough credit as she should– I absolutely adore her and that’s apparent enough by her appearance on my list. Though she may be lacking in current roles, the question here isn’t about her ability to be current, but her ability to be timeless and gorgeous. She has the whole package– poise, intelligence, and style, all wrapped up in beauty. That is why she’s number 10 on my hottest actresses list, and why I feel you should check out more of what she has to offer.

Angelina Jolie

9. Though recently she hasn’t been in much, and has indeed been spending most of her time raising a family and trying to be a good mother– Angelina Jolie has much to offer in the realm of beauty. She’s always been one of those women that will creep up in my preferences regardless of how I’m feeling or what I’m doing with my life, and I find her to be somewhat classically beautiful with a hard edge– though recently that seems to have softened a bit due to her family, including her also relatively gorgeous husband.
She has a lot going on for her, beyond the fact that she comes from an already prestigious family. She’s beautiful, she’s intelligent, she’s kind and generous, and she spends most of her time trying to figure out just how she can help and better otherws who are not nearly as blessed as she is. She’s a brilliant actress who adapts to any role, and beyond that, her body is curvaceous and athletic all at the same time, and while it is a point of contension for most, her lips are quite lovely and well known. Number 9 never looked so good.

Jayma Mays

8. Some of you may think I’m crazy for putting her above Angelina Jolie and others of that kind of figure, but once you’ve seen Jayma Mays light up a screen, you don’t stay in the realm of disbelievers for long– though I admit to not having seen her in too much, and to finding Glee to be my favoured of the roles I have seen her in, I can honestly say that she is beautiful.
She doesn’t have the usual curves I find gorgeous in a woman, or even the classical look I tend to gravitate towards, but she is adorable, and cute as a button, and when you see her interact and actually /act/ on screen, you find yourself enamored with her and finding her somewhat ‘hot’, at least in her own little way. She’s intelligent and playful, and able to not take herself too seriously, and still bring such passion to the screen, and for that, 8 seems like a nice place to reside.

Drew Barrymore

7. Few women encapsulate everything I’d want in a best friend like Drew Barrymore, and I understand that may seem like I’m a bit biased, but as it’s my list, I’ll whine if I want to. Honestly, the woman is just beautiful in every way, whether as a brunette, a blonde, a redhead, or anywhere in between. She personifies what I wish I could be– being giving, doing films that actually speak to her (Whip It!), and able to make any role she immerses herself in totally hers.
I find her to be beautiful in a pixie-like sort of way, her figure being somewhat odd, but in the same way beautiful and unique to her. Her sense of humour, above all else, is what draws me to her. The way she manages to always stay just a step ahead of what she used to be– coming from being a childhood drunk to being a successful and wonderful person is quite a leap, and one worthy of at least a 7 on any list.

Sarah Michelle Gellar

6. I don’t think many people will actually agree with me on the absolute brilliance that is Sarah Michelle Gellar (now Prinze), because she hasn’t been doing much in the way of films or even TV as of late, though she has had a few projects– such as Veronika Decides to Die, which is an amazing film, to say the least. But above all, she will always be my Buffy Summers, of my first love Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and the fact that she has such a diverse range of ability to act, as witnessed in her portrayal in Cruel Intentions as the despicable, drug-addict wench. It’s no wonder why I love her.
She’s intelligent beyond what most people know, and Joss Whedon’s quoted her as having the range of Jimmy Stewart, which is about as high of praise as you can get, even if I only got her to 6, though, I wonder sometimes if she didn’t peak early in her career, either way, she is loved.

Kate Beckinsale

5. Even if you were to totally ignore Kate Beckinsale in full body leather in Underworld, you’d still have a woman who is incredibly beautiful with an accent to match. I could listen to her read off the contents of her garbage and still be utterly pleased and enamored with everything she said– it sounds a bit ridiculous but I’ve always found the combination of her face and her accent to be just utterly beautiful. She’s one of the only actresses I know who hasn’t gone through some kind of magic hair change through the past years of her career, and for that she is one of the most beautiful brunettes I have ever met.
If you don’t understand yet just why I adore this woman, even in movies that didn’t do so well (even though I loved Serendipity), you have to take a look at the athletic, yet moderately voluptuous figure (she has a wonderful butt), and the fact that she’s intelligent to a point and has a sense of humour enough to not take herself too seriously. That, et all, is enough to make her at least a 5 on my list.

Mary-Louise Parker

4. The next person on my list might be somewhat new to some people, or at least someone they haven’t seen in a while, or perhaps even a secreted away guilty pleasure, but I have to admit that most of my obsession at current with Mary-Louise Parker comes from the fact that I have been watching Weeds and have found it to be one of those forbidden fruit kind of guilty pleasure shows– she is just amazingly talented and has a range that can actually make you feel the frustration of her character, and I love that about her, so I credit it to her talent and ability, rather than something else entirely.
She’s a dork and she’s cute, but why so high on my list as opposed to others? Possibly because of her ability to play such a role so well, and the fact that though she is open with her body, she does it in a kind of tasteful way. A lot of reasons for her to be a 4, but most of them likely only make sense to me, but I suppose that’s why this list is what it is.

Eliza Dushku

3. This woman is virtually ageless, and it’s possible to see why Eliza Dushku would climb so high towards the top of a list like this. She has it all, and I’ve been in love with her since I first saw her when I was very little in That Night, I can’t say I knew just how beautiful she’d become, or how talented, but I knew she had something. Originally, I hated her as Faith, but that was because I hated the idea of Faith as a character– I was young and didn’t much understand the reasoning behind it all, but I’ve recently come to love the character, at least in part.
She doesn’t seem to change– years pass and she’s still the same, beautiful young woman we’ve always known, coasting through on a good personality and beauty that is well-earned. She may type a bit odd on twitter, to the point where I cringe, but she’s still a beautiful and talented woman. She works hard at what she does and makes her craft her very own, and for that, 3 seems like an understatement, no?

Scarlett Johansson

2. It should be obvious by now that I like a woman who has a figure, as well as some kind of depth within her, like an ability to sing (Anywhere I Lay My Head), or even the ability to be a kind of geeky nerd and speak with intelligence and poise, or just the fact that she is an amazing, and beautiful, actress. She’s been in many things, and in all of the roles she’s /killed/ it. I couldn’t have seen anyone else in Iron Man 2, Scarlett Johansson owned that role and made it her own.
It might help that her husband is one of my favourite actors, but not really– I loved her before all that, because the woman has curves, natural curves, and she doesn’t make any apologies for them, or try to change herself for anyone’s standards. I’ve never seen her in a role I didn’t appreciate her in. She rocks my socks in almost every way possible, and that, my friends, is why she got to number 2.

Christina Hendricks

1. Not that it’ll be much surprise to anyone who really knows me that Christina Hendricks is at the top of my list, but I figured it warranted explanation anyway. The woman is the epitome of all I find sexy, and ever since I saw her as Saffron in Firefly , I have to say I’ve been in crazy amounts of love with her. I am a stickler for a redhead (even if it isn’t natural, she might as well be), as well as a woman who has curves and a little extra weight on her, yet doesn’t act like that’s any reason for her to keep her body hidden behind the drab– the woman makes dresses look amazing, and she owns every role she’s put into, from what I’ve seen. There’s no denying that pixie-like smile and mischievous grin are absolutely amazing and grounds for immediate movement to the top of my list.
It’s not just me, the entire world seems to be getting Christina Hendricks fever, and considering she’s taken top ranks in polls done for women and men, it’s amazing to know that I’m not alone in my love of this voluptuous goddess.

—————-

That concludes my extensive list of Top 10 Hottest Female Actresses, and I hope that you’ve at least enjoyed prodding through the list. If you have any suggestions for who should have made my list, feel free to leave a comment, or even to try and refute one of my choices, debate is always welcome– and I will be doing a follow-up of this list some time soon of the actresses I feel are most overrated.

  1. I generally agree with you with the fact that all of these women are very attractive, mosdef. But like you said, it’s all subjective: I think it’s interesting that just from looking at the photographs you chose to show the actresses in particular, I can see there are particular features and aspects of each of these women that they all share that seem to be most attractive to you in particular. I’m obsessed with genetics and human instinct yada yada yada, so to me this is all more anthropological than anything else. Ehe…

I’d be interested to see your top 10 hottest actors now seeing the consistencies in what you find attractive in women. I am intrigued! 😀

    • I’m thinking of doing a Hottest Actors thing sometime this week, honestly. I just have to mull over it a bit because I spent like two hours writing all this up last night and finding the right pics to demonstrate and all that.

I’ll be sure to give you a prod when I get it up. 😀

      • W000000T yes please pimp the entry somewhere so I can come see. I am excited now. I might have to copy your idea, as well, because I don’t know if people know I even like 10 actors in total these days. O.o

        ehehehehehe.

        • That’s the only trouble I’m having. I can think of a lot of actors I enjoy, and a few I find hot, but I’m not sure if I can totally come up with a definitive number of actors that I find utterly hot and gorgeous– as soon as I do post it, though, you’ll get a notification, hopefully. >D There’s always the option of subscribing to the rss, too… … though I’ve never done that before so it’s all a big random for me. 😛

  2. Amazing list and very beautiful women. I love that you have really thought about each person and that their beauty is beyond simply looks, because beauty is much more then what resides on the surface. 🙂

    • Danke, Kyaness. That was kind of what I was going for, finding women with substance and beauty, so it wasn’t another list with Megan Fox at the top (I have a personal hatred for her and her duckface, but that’s another list altogether.), and I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😀

  3. …I TOTALLY forgot to say that I applaud x 100000000 you for Christina Hendricks being #1. Really. As women ourselves, do we really think all the super skinny cookie cutter 21-year old actresses out there are the epitome of beauty like Megan Fox or whatever? UM, NO. Guys are weird. Mosdef. Christina is beyond sexy and feminine in every way, hands down. I have never even seen here in a movie or TV show, but just the confidence she has about herself and her own body – curves and all – is beyond amazing. Seeing her at award shows like the Golden Globes and whatnot is what has made me admire her just for being a 35 year old woman in Hollywood and looking fab with what she has.

So really now that she was named Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire magazine this year, I think Esquire has a little more street cred than any of those other dumb guys magazines like FHM or whatever. Megan Fox might be “hott” or whatever, but Christina is sexy to the point that a guy can’t say anything at all. 😛

    A+

    • Christina Hendricks is like my favourite actress and I find her utterly gorgeous– the entire post started because I wanted to write something like this, and the original plan was to rant about how gorgeous she was– but in the end that would have been a few paragraphs, and I figured a list of people I find valuable to the business and girls having a positive self image might be better.

That being SAID, you should watch her in Firefly, and from what I hear Mad Men is amazing, though I haven’t fully gotten around to watching it as I’ve been a bit busy lately and I’m not sure it’s my type of show (it’s amazing if you like that sort of period piece, and I’m not sure I would… and I fear not liking it and being all sadface). Also, she was recently in a video (http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xdis2j_christina-hendricks-broken-bells_music) for a band that wasn’t even aware they could get her– that’s one of the things I love about her, she’ll do things because she likes it, not the money she’ll make or the publicity (even though the song isn’t something I’d listen to more than a few times at random maybe, it’s still an interesting video to watch).

… Okay, I just ranted for a year at you in my comments, so I’ll shut up. 😀

  4. I just started watching MadMen and saw Christina’s name in the credits and was like “Could it be?” and it was! Although, the photo you chose of her kind of scares me lol, I think it’s the eyes.

Most of the women you’ve chosen I’ve loved for one reason or another over the years but none are my favourite (I’m not sure myself who that is anymore but I did have a long obsession with Kristen Bell). In fact, I kind of hate Sarah Michelle Gellar (or perhaps I hate Buffy lol, man I hate Buffy!! – the character, not the show lol) except in Cruel Intentions, she was wonderful in that! I haven’t liked her in anything else I don’t think.

I love that you put in Drew though, Go Drew! 🙂

    • Christina’s got crazy eyes– it’s just something she has… my best friend pointed it out to me, but unless you stare at them you don’t notice because she’s just that beautiful– the picture I use for my gravatar at the moment is one of my favourites of her, and I don’t know why, it just seems so damn beautiful and natural to me.

Buffy as a character can be annoying, to be honest, but I still love her– I think I love her because she’s annoying in some cases, it helps define her character for me.

And Drew is love– I’ve loved her forever because she honestly seems about as random adn insane as I am. 😀

    • She’s cute, but she’s not so much my type as it were. I could see her being up there in a list of actresses based on their skills as an actor, but she’s not that hot to me. :>
